Our program is definitely not for everybody. We serve a very specific type of person, and if you fit that market, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better option. But if you don’t fit that market, then we are definitely not a good fit for you.
Here are five reasons you absolutely should not join our program.

1. You Want a Fancy Gym Experience
There’s absolutely nothing fancy or special about our buildings.
They’re clean, reasonably nice, and have everything we need to radically change people’s health, body composition, and lifestyle by helping them get stronger, healthier, and leaner.
However, if you’re looking for a massive facility with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of random equipment you’ll never use, plus a sauna, steam room, smoothie bar, or pool… you’ll probably be disappointed.
That’s simply not who we are.
We obsess over coaching, results, accountability, and transformation — not luxury amenities.

2. You’re Looking for the Cheapest Option
Our program is expensive.
Now, we fully believe it will be one of the best investments you make this year if you decide to work with us. Our clients will tell you the investment is absolutely worth it.
If what you care about is excellent customer service, expert coaching, accountability, and a completely customized personal training experience that can radically change your life, then we may be exactly what you’re looking for.
But if you’re simply looking for a place to work out, a cheap gym membership, or somewhere to casually hang out with friends (though great friendships definitely happen here), then you’ll probably feel like you’re overpaying.
Because what we offer is far more than access to equipment.
We offer coaching, structure, accountability, and a proven system designed to help people finally get real results.

3. You Want to Feel Productive Without Actually Putting in the Work
You can get away with that behavior at a regular gym.
You can show up, walk around, do random exercises, scroll your phone, and convince yourself you’re making progress.
That won’t happen here.
Everything we do is personal training–based, which means we won’t let you just coast through workouts and go through the motions. In fact, if we don’t think you’re truly willing to put in effort, we may not allow you to join in the first place.
Our mission is to change as many lives as possible, and we can’t do that if people aren’t willing to take the process seriously.

We obsess over every detail:
- Your workout plan
- Your nutrition plan
- Your walking/cardio goals
- Your recovery
- Your accountability
We do that because we genuinely want you to succeed.
If you want real results, that level of coaching is life-changing.
If you just want to “say you worked out,” you probably won’t enjoy our program very much.

4. You Already Know Exactly What You’re Doing
If you already know exactly what you’re doing in the gym, you may not want to join us.
Now, that’s not always true.
Even people who have been training for years usually have areas we can optimize, and almost everyone benefits from coaching, accountability, and an objective outside perspective.
So joining us certainly wouldn’t be a mistake.
But we also understand that we may not be your first choice if you’re already highly experienced, highly disciplined, and consistently getting great results on your own.

Most people who come to us are either:
- Complete beginners who have never strength trained before
- People who used to work out consistently but stopped for years or decades
- People dealing with injuries, joint pain, health limitations, or other challenges that make fitness feel intimidating
They’re looking for a fresh start and expert guidance from coaches who understand how to safely and effectively work around those issues while still helping them get incredible results.
That’s where we thrive.
But if you’re already in phenomenal shape and have been crushing the gym consistently for years, you may not see as much value in what we offer.

5. You Care More About Feeling Exhausted Than Getting Results
This is one of the biggest reasons people struggle with fitness long-term.
Most people think a “good workout” means leaving the gym sweaty, sore, exhausted, and completely drained.
But chasing soreness and exhaustion is not actually a great long-term strategy for getting results.
In fact, it’s often one of the reasons people stay stuck.
At Steel, we do things very differently.
Our goal is not to destroy you every workout. Our goal is to help you build strength, improve your health, recover properly, and create sustainable progress that actually lasts.
Sometimes that means workouts feel different than what you’re used to.
And for people who have spent years believing that harder always equals better, that mindset shift can be difficult.

If you’re more attached to the feeling of being exhausted than you are to trusting a coach who knows how to get results, then you probably won’t be a good fit for our program.
The people who thrive here are the people who come in with humility, trust the process, and are willing to try something different — often completely different from what they’ve done before.
That’s why our clients get such incredible results.
And it’s also why they love the program so much.
