Guidance That Goes Beyond the Gym Floor

A great coach doesn’t just tell you what to do—they understand where you are, where you want to be, and how to get you there. At Steel Strength Training, our coaches are more than certified professionals; they are mentors, educators, and motivators.

You’ll see it in the way we carefully adjust a client’s form, track progress with precision, and push each individual to unlock their full potential. We don’t rush workouts; we teach proper form to prevent injuries and ensure long-term success. Their focus isn’t on cranking out as many sessions as possible—it’s on delivering meaningful, lasting results for every member who walks through our doors.

Strength Training changed my life. And now I’m on a mission to change as many lives through Strength Training as possible. I started Strength Training myself in 2009. I became a Personal Trainer in 2013 at the Gold’s Gym in Vestavia. I met my now good friend and mentor at Gold’s Gym. He told me to quit the job at Gold’s and start my own business. In 2014 I paid rent to an awesome gym owner named Dave in downtown Birmingham. I trained clients there for a year. In 2015 I left Dave’s gym to open up my own gym! In January 2016 I started Physical Therapy School at UAB. I trained before and after school. That was a very busy year. But so worth it. As the year went on, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I should quit PT school to run my gym full-time. After much prayer and discussion with Shelby, my amazing wife, I knew I had to quit school. In January 2017 I quit PT school to run my gym full-time. I haven’t looked back since! We’ve helped hundreds of men and women in Birmingham transform their body, health, and lifestyle. And we’re looking forward to transforming thousands and thousands more. And we hope YOU are one of them. See you in the gym! – Nate
