Who doesn’t want to be hot, healthy, and rich?
Strength Training will help get you there.
Strength Training won’t guarantee you end up hot, healthy, and rich…but it gives you a great shot. A much better shot than you’d have if you aren’t Strength Training.
Don’t believe me?
Let me explain all the ways Strength Training will improve your life:
- Physical Health
- Fitness
- Mental Health
- Relational Health
- Spiritual Health
- Financial Health
Quick Note***- None of this is medical advice. I’m not saying you’ll experience all of the following results. Everyone’s response to Strength Training is different. I just want to share all the ways I’ve seen lives improved and hopefully that serves as motivation for you to start Strength Training.
Physical Health
This one’s obvious. But sometimes the thing we need is to be reminded of what we already know!
Your physical health will dramatically improve when you start Strength Training.
We regularly get reports of improved:
- Blood Sugar/A1C
- Cholesterol
- Triglycerides
- Blood Pressure
- And much more!
We’ve even seen substantial improvements in bone density! (And some people say this can’t be reversed…)
Better bloodwork is super cool. But this next part is even cooler.
One of the first things people report is improved energy and much better sleep. People go home tired (but not wiped out), pass out as soon as their head hits the pillow, sleep like a baby, and wake up refreshed. The best sleep they’ve had in years! All from their FIRST strength training workout with us.
On top of this they experience higher and more stable energy level throughout the day. Incredible.
And look, it’s not that we’re so amazing. I mean we ARE pretty cool…
But in reality it’s just that strength training is so powerful at changing your physical health!
Even 10 years later, it never ceases to amaze me just how big an impact Strength Training has on your physical health.
Fitness
Again, another obvious point. But the obvious needs to be stated so you don’t take it for granted!
Strength Training improves strength, muscle, and endurance.
Which translates to you being able to do the thing you love with the people you love. You know, take that fun trip or go skiing or hiking or whatever you’re into. Heck, maybe you just want to be fit so you can play Uno and Monopoly with your family for hours.
It also comes in handy when you need to do something like move boxes, furniture, and other random heavy objects.
The way I see it, your physical health ensures you generally feel well and can stick around for a long time.
Being physically fit ensures your body never holds you back from being, doing, and having all that you want. Fitness allows you to give and get the most out of life!
Mental Health
This is a HOT topic. Our collective mental health has been on a decline for many years. And it doesn’t seem to be improving.
I’m not sure what’s worse… having a mind that is willing but being imprisoned by a body that is ill and prevents you from doing what you want…or a mind that imprisons you and keeps you from doing what you want despite having a body that could go do those things.
The worst of course would be feeling imprisoned by both mind and body. Something many of us have experienced to varying degrees.
This is a complex problem, but Strength Training should pretty much always be part of the solution to your mental health plan.
Study after study, and more importantly story after story, shows strength training is as, and often more effective than any drug on the market for anxiety and depression.
And this is not a statement about whether or not you should take those. My statement is simply Strength Training should be part of your mental health plan.
Even if you’re not dealing with really bad anxiety and depression, Strength Training is still good for your mind!
It will reduce stress, improve your thinking and memory, and generally make you happier.
We all walk around all day with at least low levels of stress which means we all have a little extra cortisol and adrenaline coursing through our veins. Then we get to the end of the day stress, anxious, and exhausted. Even though our body has done very little.
Strength Training creates an outlet for that stress and anxiety. After a workout your body and mind will relax. Allowing you to rest mentally and physically.
The increased blood flow will help you think more clearly and improve your memory. So you’ll be better at problem solving!
The workouts will also release endorphins- those feel good hormones. So even if you hate working out, you’ll end up happier!
And generally the workouts will take the edge off of life.
After a workout you realize the problems you were worrying about aren’t really problems at all. And the really big problems you have (we’ve all got em right??) won’t be quite as stressful. Plus you’ll be in a better place mentally to solve those problems.
Working out isn’t just about big muscles and physical health. It’s just as good for your mental health!
Relational Health
I want a great marriage don’t you? Again, this is a complex topic and Strength Training alone won’t make this happen.
But it definitely increases your chances!
Being healthier and more fit and more mentally healthy will allow you to show up and serve your spouse better. Your friends and family too!
Now each of us is infinitely valuable simply by existing. You were made in the image of God! And nothing can take that away from you.
BUT we were created to serve others! You’ll be far happier and more fulfilled when you show up to serve. And your relationship with benefit.
Also, in a marriage, you commit to love that person for better or worse. There are times in marriage where you have to carry the load for 2. And there are times when your spouse will do the same for you. Marriage isn’t 50/50, it’s about seeking to outdo one another in serving each other.
And being lean, strong, and healthy will make it easier for you to do that!
It will make the hard times more manageable, and the good times even better.
Spiritual Health
I just told you you were made in the image of God. You are not an animal!
You are body and soul.
If you try to divorce those 2 your life will not go as well as it could. The body affects the soul, and the soul affects the body.
Often when the body suffers, the soul suffers. And when the body thrives, the soul thrives.
There are exceptions to this of course…
We will all deal with illness and ailments in this life to varying degrees, and our souls can thrive despite (and perhaps even because of) this.
But generally speaking you should take care of your body the best you can and your soul will reap the benefits!
Financial Health
Don’t tell me you don’t care about money if you go to work 30, 40, 50+ hours per week.
Money isn’t the point of life. But it’s an important part of life. Which is why we spend 25% of our weekly hours working for it!
Strength Training will improve physical health, fitness, mental health, relational health, and spiritual health. When those things are healthy, it’s easier to make more money.
Think about it.
We make money when we show up and serve others.
And the better we serve them (more value we add) the more money we can make in the same amount of time.
When you are healthy and relaxed and confident, people will look to you for leadership.
When you’re thinking less stressed and more mentally clear, you will come up with better solutions.
When you have energy to work all day, and you get sick less often, you can do more work!
When your relationships at home are working well, that will actually fuel your performance in others areas of life. Like work. The inverse is definitely true. We can all strive to be professional and not let outside work factors affect our work performance. But we are whole beings, not robots who cleanly compartmentalize our lives. Every area of life will affect the other.
And when you’re spiritually healthy, people will want to be around you and be served by you and they’ll be happy to pay you.
So if you want to be hot, healthy, and happy…you’ll need to do more than just Strength Training. But you will need to Strength Train!
Start Strength Training 2-4 days per week for 45 minutes and watch every single area of your life improve!
And if you’re ready to get started on your Strength Training journey but you want coaching to make sure you stay safe and get the best results possible…we’d love to work with you!
